Welcome, Pilgrims and Visitors

Throughout the four seasons, Shikoku offers breathtaking landscapes—mountains and fields changing their colors, valleys formed by steep slopes, and a grand river flowing majestically with an abundant supply of pristine water. At its river mouth, migratory birds find a resting place, while the Pacific Ocean stretches in a deep azure hue. The Seto Inland Sea, dotted with numerous islands, nurtures a rich and diverse ecosystem. This sacred land, the birthplace of Kobo Daishi, has long been a center of deep devotion and faith.
In this land woven with history and spiritual tradition, the temples of our pilgrimage association continue to be places where pilgrims offer their prayers, deepening their faith in Kannon with each visit.
Kannon, the bodhisattva of mercy, takes on thirty-three different forms to guide and protect us. Each temple along this pilgrimage enshrines one of these sacred manifestations, offering a unique experience at every stop.
Just as the roots of a lotus remain connected beneath the water, our lives are linked—to the people we meet, the flowers and trees along our path, and all living things. As you journey through the serene landscapes of Shikoku, take your time, walk mindfully, and embrace the experience. With a heart full of gratitude, may you form a sacred bond with each of the thirty-three manifestations of Kannon.
The Shikoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage Association warmly welcomes you on this spiritual journey.
